The system is based on the four-dimensional control of the ball by 14 high-speed cameras set up at both goals. If the ball crosses the goal line, a signal is sent directly to the referee. Soccer’s governing body FIFA on 02 April 2013 confirmed the appointment of German company GoalControl GmbH as the official GLT provider to supply the GoalControl-4D system for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 in Brazil.
